During the month of october the 15 0 FICS Championship has
been organized. 153 players joined the 2 qualifiers to
get a place in the finals. The 2 winners of the qualifiers
and the 2 best in the overall standings challenged each
other for the Champion title in a closed KO tournament. 4
more players, chosen according to the same rules, took
part to the U1800 final.
The strong alexeyl was again the winner, after thriumphing
in the 5 0 and in the 3 0 Championships. The U1800 was won
by the italian amalafronte.
In november the FICS Suicide Championship will be held.
Everyone is welcome to test his strength in this popular
chess variant.
