Next tourney will be held on Tuesday 25th June, at 13.15 server time (22.15 CET)
The tourney will be devoted to Cochrane Gambit in the Russian Game - .
All the games in this tourney will have to start with the following moves: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nxf7

At the end of the tourney, the first two players , and the first 'under 1600', will receive at home (of course completely free) a copy of the CD "Complete 1.e4 Gambits", by Franco Pezzi, with thousands of games, a lot of which annotated and/or analyzed.
In the CD you will find also CB Reader and Fritz6 Demo (kind permission of ChessBase).

To be considered 'under 1600', a player must have a blitz rating < 1600 at the beginning of the tourney, must have played at least 100 rated blitz games on FICS, must HAVE a blitz best, and this best must be < 1650.
All the games from the tourney will be carefully analyzed by ComputerAbuse.

Eventual ties will be solved applying Buholz system, in the italian variation. The sum of opponents' points is considered, not considering the worst. If there is still a tie, the worst is considered.

For those who'd like to have an idea on this wonderful CD, (and who'd like to train for the incoming tourney :-)) the Author made a big excerpt of it (with add-on !) available for download at http://www.gambitchess.com/cd.htm - Don't miss it, it's really interesting !

All prizes are kindly offered by Franco Pezzi, author of some interesting chess books and multimedial CDs, as for example Gambitingly!, A series of 3 CD about Gambits with thousands of annotated games , and The Queen's Gambit , a series of 3 CDs (plus a comprehensive 4th CD) about the Queen's Gambit with thousands of selected games (hundreds of which annotated and/or analyzed.
